The emergence of digital technologies and the industry 4.0 has led to the formation of a new approach to digital transformation for organizations and societies, and along with the emergence of new business models, disruptions also have been resulted in industries and globalized markets. In the present era where volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity are increasingly prominent and sudden crises occur constantly, the ability of organizations to develop a strong and resilient system is vital for their continuity and sustainability. Therefore, the present study seeks to discover and identify the increasing potential of this digital generation for the benefit of industrial resilience and to transform these continuous changes into opportunities to improvement.
Method: The present study is in term of bibliometric. During a systematic literature review, by searching for relevant keywords in reputable scientific platforms and then screening the findings, 44 final articles were identified in the industrial resilience field and 7 in the industrial digitalization field. Then, through the meta-synthesis to identify "digital enablers" and "industrial resilience essentials", the extracted qualitative data were analyzed.
Conclusion: Our proposed framework identifies the resilience essentials in four time periods: before the crisis (anticipation); during the crisis (coping); after the crisis (adaptation) and long-term (business continuity) and digital enabling factors in seven general groups: information technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, simulators, cyber-physical systems, Internet mobilizing and additive manufacturing.
