Abstract
Abstract
In the first three decades of the third millennium, along with the emergence of emerging industrial economies, profound structural changes have occurred in the development patterns and industrial geography of different regions of the world. One of the key distinguishing features of these changes has been the gradual decline in the importance of comparative advantages and the increase in the role of competitive advantages in the pattern of international trade in industrial products. In this new paradigm, the components of "technology" and "innovation" have played an increasing role in the industrial development process of countries. Using a methodology based on the two-digit classification of industrial activities (ISIC) and analyzing data from the period 2001 to 2022, this article has examined the structural characteristics of the global garment and leather manufacturing industry. This study focuses on key indicators including; The share of global value added, the degree of concentration and monopoly power, the extent of achieving economies of scale, and the level of product diversification have assessed Iran's potential opportunities to gain a suitable share of global value added in the garment and leather manufacturing industry in the long term. The most important results have been obtained.
