Abstract
Objective: This research evaluates the electronic readiness for electronic contracts in private banks of Iran. For this purpose, dimensions and criteria affecting electronic readiness were extracted from previous researches.
Method: The statistical population of this research is made up of experts who are working in five private banks, Parsian, Shahr, Pasargad, Ekhtet Novin and Mellat. The Delphi method was used to confirm the criteria, and as a result of the Delphi questionnaire, 5 main dimensions and 30 criteria were confirmed by experts. Then Analytical Hierarchy Method (AHP) was used to prioritize and determine the weights of the criteria.
Findings: Prioritization by the hierarchical analysis method showed that among the main dimensions, the social-cultural dimension and among the criteria, the criterion of “the level of awareness of the beneficiaries of the benefits of electronic contracts” are in the first priority. In addition, the electronic readiness of banks to use electronic contracts based on the criteria identified in this research was evaluated using the TOPSIS decision matrix method, and the studied banks were ranked in order of electronic readiness.
Conclusion: The results of the research show that Bank Mellat got the first rank of electronic readiness for the use of electronic contracts among other banks examined in this research.
