Designing a Model of Effective Factors on Privatization in Iranian State-owned Companies

Abstract
The experiences of different countries in the field of privatization show that great successes have been achieved, but unfortunately in Iran there have been many unsuccessful experiences in this field. On the other hand, there is no proper understanding of the factors that affect privatization. Therefore, in this research, a model of factors affecting privatization in Iranian state-owned companies is designed. This research is in the group of mixed research in terms of application-development goal. In the qualitative stage, the theme analysis method was used to identify the factors affecting the privatization of state-owned companies. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 23 purposefully selected experts. Based on the results, 2 dimensions of micro and macro factors and 6 components including support, marketing, transfer process, competitive, environmental and economic factors were identified. In the quantitative part, the research model was tested and validated by the method of confirmatory factor analysis. For this purpose, 70 experts and experts in the field of privatization and transfer of state-owned companies were polled using a questionnaire. Based on the findings of factor analysis, all identified factors were confirmed. Also, the factors of the transfer process, supporting factors and economic factors have the highest priority with a coefficient of determination of 0.775, 0.719 and 0.714, respectively. The results showed that privatization in Iran is a multifaceted and complex phenomenon that is affected by a set of factors that without their control and management cannot achieve valuable results.
